We’re getting close to the halfway point in the year, so I wanted to check in with myself to see how much of my manifestation list I have completed since January.
Since 2024, I have begun each year by writing a manifestation list for myself with my goals and aspirations. I typically wait until the end of year to do a recap, but I want to be more proactive, hence I’m checking in now. For my manifestation list, I wrote very specific goals that I plan to achieve this year, and I have actually completed a few already. I’m going to list each goal and if I have completed it/ what I’m doing to complete it.
My Progression on My 2026 Manifestation List
- Start running, so that I can improve my stamina for tennis and for my health overall.
- I haven’t started running yet, but I still really want to complete this goal. When I was studying abroad in Copenhagen this past semester, I saw so many people running all throughout the day and night. This made me realize that all I need to run is myself and the motivation. I have both of those now, so I’m ready to start. Hopefully, I can begin running in the next couple of days after my jet lag wears off.
- Watch a professional tennis match in person.
- I really wanted to go to the Barcelona Open this semester, but it was way too expensive. The ticket for the tournament was the same price as the plane fare, and I couldn’t justify it. My last reasonable opportunity to complete this goal is going to the US Open. My friend and I are trying to get tickets the day they open, so wish us luck. Hopefully we can find some affordable tickets.
- Keep improving my GPA by building sustainable study routines for class.
- My grades from my semester abroad don’t affect my GPA, but I still did very well. I’m hoping that by continuing my momentum, I won’t have to start over in the Fall to regain it.
- Go on at least two solo trips this year, so that I feel more confident exploring alone.
- This semester I did two overnight trips, and two day trips on my one completing this goal. I went to Oslo in February for a weekend trip and Tallinn and Budapest as part of a weeklong trip in March. During the semester, I also took day trips to Malmö and Helsingør. Traveling to Oslo alone was my first solo trip. I was nervous at first, but I really enjoyed my own company and exploring alone.
- Get a summer research internship at a university in New York City.
- This summer I will be an intern in a research lab in NYC which is really exciting. I remember sitting at home last summer while recovering from my foot surgery searching for programs to apply to for the following. Now, I’m actually going to New York, and have an amazing internship lined up.
- Go on at least 4 overnight trips to 4 different countries while I am studying abroad.
- I went to Norway, Germany, Estonia, Hungary, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom this semester. I had an amazing time.
- Show up for my friends by going to their events, and giving them support in their lives.
- I’m working on it. I was away from all of my friends back at school this semester, but I’ve tried my best to maintain the friendships I’ve made while abroad.
- Go apple picking within my first month back at school.
- Mark my words. In September, I will be picking apples and eating apple cider donuts at an orchard.
- Keep up with blog goals.
- I have posted every week this year, but I have been neglecting my other goals. My most important one is honestly keeping up posting once a week. In hindsight, the other goals aren’t as important to me now.
- Play tennis at least four times a month.
- Even though I brought my racket abroad, I never got to play tennis. Tennis club memberships are difficult to get in Copenhagen because they’re expensive and they have waiting lists. I’m hoping that when I’m in New York, I can play a lot more. I found a tennis center that appears to offer affordable lessons, so I’m praying I can pay and have time for them.
- Draw one fashion sketch a week to become more adept and faster at sketching.
- I haven’t even started this. To be honest, I was too scared to sketch in front of my roommates, but I need to get over this. It’s better to do something messy than not at all, so I will start.
- Sew three clothing pieces and utilize sewing equipment at school for at least two of them.
- When I return from my internship, I will make a simple piece at home as well as plan some pieces to make when I’m at school.
- Create a vision for my life post graduation, so that I don’t feel behind senior Spring.
- This semester I’ve conjured up ideas for post grad, but now I need to act. I want to apply for the Fulbright program, so I will sign up for the information sessions at my school, and draft my application this summer.
- Invest in my wardrobe and buy pieces that I can see myself wearing long term and lasting for years.
- I have been killing this goal. While I was abroad I was extremely picky about the clothes and accessories I bought. I purchased some really nice pieces both new and vintage that will last me a while.
- My one overarching goal is to do things that scare me more often because it pays off.
- I studied abroad, traveled alone, made new friends, and have done so many more things this year that have scared me. I’m ready to do more.
If you made a manifestation list this year, check in with yourself soon. No matter what your progress is, go easy on yourself. You still have the rest of the year to complete your goals. That’s all for this week’s blog post. Make sure to subscribe to be notified of new ones. Stay sharp 😉
