Hello Everyone! I really wanted to do something fashion related this week, but I was struggling with what exactly I wanted to write about. I didn’t want to do a “what to wear” or a “how to” because I don’t have any worthwhile ideas. Then it struck me. This week I’m going to be talking about some of my favorite looks from the Renaissance Tour and the Eras Tour.
Renaissance Tour Look #1
When I saw this look on Instagram, I instantly was taken aback. Every look from the Renaissance Tour was art, but this piece from Georges Hobeika was showstopping. It took over 300 hours to make which isn’t surprising at all: art takes time. I really like how the crystals have a sort of gradient on the dress. This is very biology to me, but how the crystals move from a high concentration to low concentration is mesmerizing. It’s like a waterfall of sparkles.
Eras Tour Look #1
Something you should know about me is that I love a gown. I’ve never had the opportunity to wear one unless you count prom, but my dream is to have the opportunity to wear a gown like this one by Zuhair Murad Couture from the Eras Tour. If you haven’t heard of Zuhair Murad, then you are missing out on an amazing designer. His gowns always eat down. When I mean eat down, I mean no crumbs left, the plate is washed, dried, and spotless. Something I found interesting is that this dress has a similar element to the dress Beyoncé wore by Georges Hobeika above: the sparkles. That gradient is so eye-catching. Ethereal even.
Renaissance Tour Look #2
This look was worn on the first night of the Renaissance Tour, and it’s so fun. Viewers really got to see Beyoncé show off her stellar moves after so many years in this David Koma look. She wore this same dress later in the tour but in a different color palette. I prefer this one because of the contrast between the hot pink and lime green. It’s the perfect outfit for a summer tour and a night out with friends. It screams Club Renaissance.
Eras Tour Look #2
Bodysuits have become a staple to the Eras Tour. I’ve noticed that whenever Taylor is doing more ballad-like songs, such as from the Speak Now or Folklore albums, she wears a longer dress, and does a little less choreography, but when she puts a bodysuit on, you know she’s going to dance her heart out. (This is the same with Beyoncé as well) It was cool tracking this bodysuit from Versace as the tour progressed because it changed a little with every city. I know Taylor did this for a reason, but will I ever know why? Probably not, and that’s okay. The mystery is fun.
Thank you all for reading this week’s article. I hope you enjoyed looking at some of the outfits from the Eras Tour and Renaissance Tour. Both tours absolutely changed history, and I think it’s important to acknowledge the work these women did to literally boost the American economy, connect with their fans, and be inspiring, hardworking role models for people all at the same time.
