I’ve never had naturally long lashes. They’re full, but they’ve always been a little short and stumpy. That’s okay, but I didn’t like having to pack on the mascara when I went out. Because of this, I started looking for an alternative. After watching numerous youtube videos from optometrists and ophthalmologists, I’ve found the perfect eyelash serum for me: The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Lash & Brow Serum.
I’ve tried Vaseline in the past on my eyelashes, but sadly it didn’t do anything. Thus, when I started looking for an eyelash serum, I scoured the internet reading reviews and watching videos. The most important thing I found when looking for eyelash serums is don’t buy one with prostaglandin. Prostaglandin can help those with sparse eyelashes, but it also has some unwanted side effects: skin discoloration, eye irritation, and sometimes an eye color change.
Instead of prostaglandin, you want to buy an eyelash serum with panthenol. Panthenol derives from pantothenic acid(vitamin B5). It hydrates and smoothes hair. Unlike prostaglandin, panthenol has not been known to harm the skin unless someone has an allergy to it.
I started using the lash serum from The Ordinary around late March. After the first 2 weeks, I didn’t notice much of a difference. However, I started seeing results around late March. My eyelashes were more visible even when I didn’t wear mascara. When I wore mascara, they were full and less clumpy.
Though I don’t have any actual before and after photos of my own from using the serum, I will say that it’s lightweight, non-irritating, and affordable. If you want to see real results from this serum, check Google and you’ll find tons of videos confirming how well it works.
If I still haven’t convinced you to purchase this serum, that’s totally okay. Even though, I encourage you to consider buying this serum, another key takeaway from this post is to buy lash serums that don’t contain prostaglandin. Though prostaglandin has the prefix pro, the pros do not outweigh the cons. If you do decide to buy this serum, even better.
That’s it for this week, I thought it would be nice to keep things short and sweet. Thank you for reading and subscribe to be notified of new posts. Stay sharp 😉
