Unpacking the 2025 Fall/Winter Collection from MONSE

I always forget that there are thousands of clothing brands out there. I know a lot of the big houses like Chanel, Givenchy, and Gucci, but there’s still so much growth regarding my fashion knowledge. It’s important I expose myself to brands I’m not familiar with, which is why I wrote today’s post. I’ve kind of put myself in this fashion bubble, and I’m ready to pop it, and see what’s out there. To research, I used a website called FirstView where you can see collections from thousands of brands across the years. To find the subject for this article, I looked in the Women’s Collections for a 2025 Fall/Winter show. After some digging, I landed on MONSE.

MONSE is a NYC based label founded by the co-creative directors of Oscar de la Renta Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia. They describe the brand as “a line for modern women who seek to stand out from the crowd without compromising her effortless demeanor”(Source). That’s exactly what the 2025 Fall/Winter exudes. It’s effortless, but accented with purposeful tailoring and cool prints. Overall, the collection is very strong because it’s cohesive and structured. No look could be confused with another at the same time though.

For example, look at these looks. All three feature the black and white pinstripe fabric, but in different forms. The model on the left is sporting a pantsuit while the model in the middle is wearing an asymmetrical skirt. The model on the right seems to be wearing the skirt over the pants from the pants suit. This is an inventive way to create a new look with a smaller collection. It also shows how different pieces can be layered together which is perfect because Fall is when the layering begins.

I really like the use of silky, light fabrics in the collection. It’s so easy for designers to mainly gravitate towards wools, corduroys, and tweeds for fall and winter. This 2025 Fall/Winter collection from MONSE excels at introducing silk to the colder seasons. They accomplish this by choosing dark colors like maroon and navy, but still keeping those classic fall and winter silhouettes like turtlenecks and structured shirts.

My Favorites from the MONSE collection

Now I want to dig into my two favorite pieces from this collection. First, is this gorgeous bronze satiny midlength coat. The construction of the coat is exceptional, and the bronze fabric draws me in. The rose print just adds a little something extra as well. Imagine this coat over a carmine colored turtleneck and a pair of dark black jeans. Paired with some heeled boots the look would be so cozy.

To finish off, I want to highlight this structured leather turtleneck. I admire the craftsmanship of this top because the leather is molded so well. Additionally, the stitches are clean and straight. This is a basic observation, but it’s that attention to detail that takes a piece up another level. This top would look so good on a night out. Just imagine taking a photo and the light from the camera flashing reflecting on the leather. I’m picturing this top with a cute little flair skirt or a long shift skirt for a more formal event. Kitten heels for the beginners like me or some stilettos for the ones that have ankle strength.
